Abingdon did well

Wow! What a weekend.

This is the beautifully restored County Hall of Abingdon with one of the Jubilee Beacons alight on the roof on Monday 4th June.

Whatever people say about Abingdon itself, the people here really know how to put on a good party! The weather was damp but buns were thrown, food was shared and neighbours chatted. What's not to like?

Abingdon Expects

Abingdon is red, white and blue; blue, white and red and white with red and blue bits.

Our office is in Stert Street and we have bunting, window displays and flags up and down the street all in readiness for the celebrations over the weekend then the second or third most exciting thing ever to happen in Abingdon....... the quick passage of Olympic torch at the crack of dawn on 10th July. It isn't literally the crack of dawn which is at about 4am but 7am feels much like dawn in the BlueDoor office!

Feast your eyes on all this colour:

Just around the corner is the Market Square which is similarly bedecked and the museum is looking particularly fantastic now that it has been cleaned and restored.

Oh and James May of TopGear was in town yesterday too. I don't think he was in the queue for Sami's Kebabs but he might have had one before he went back to his bat/man cave.

Tornado in Kidlington

Kidlington is a lovely place to live but look what happened there this afternoon!

We haven't had any reports of damage to any of the properties we manage there so we hope everyone is safe and sound

Could you be a BlueDoor Landlord?

Oops! We've let all the properties we had to let in Abingdon, Oxford and Kidlington. Lots of happy tenants and happy landlords but who else wants to take advantage of our fantastic service?

If you are tired of your agent charging you a percentage of your rent and adding fees for renewing a tenancy to the same tenant they moved into your property six months ago, perhaps it's time you looked at BlueDoor.

BlueDoor Sales is doing business everywhere

Did you know that we are now selling houses too? We are rocking the boat with our fixed fees and hearing the same old rumbles form other agents as we did when we started letting properties.

They are telling people that our fee must be an up front fee. It isn't!

They say that we are an online agent and won't do viewings. We are online and we do viewings at any time you like!

They say that it's too far to travel from Abingdon to Bicester. Have they not heard of the car?!

They say that we don't have an office in Bicester. We do have a serviced office in Bicester!

The reason why we are offering Fixed Fee Sales is the same reason why we do Fixed Fee Lettings: we run the business without expensive offices or expensive cars or expensive suits that landlords and vendors have to pay for.

We do what we do so that you can spend less and save more. There is no catch and there is no trick. We just like to work this way!

April News

We are still here! BlueDoor is still giving good advice, charging fair fees, meeting our customers' needs and loving life in general. Our tips for this month are these:
If you are thinking about re-vamping your rental kitchen have a look at Dream Doors
Keep your tenants happy by keeping your rent the same or increasing it by £5 per month at most. Being kind to tenants means no voids and no re-let fees.
If you are looking for a Buy-to-Let investment our advice is the same as ever. You should only look at one or two bed properties and avoid new build flats with huge management charges that will add at least £1000 to your costs per year. Landlords new to property investment or looking to expand their portfolio would do well to do a bit of reading about the best ways to do this to save tax and we have a stack of books in the office you can borrow to give you an idea of how you can manage your portfolio. Just give us a ring and we'll have a chat then point you in the right direction.
